St. Louis NUCCA Conference

I just returned from nearly a week in St. Louis at the annual Spring conference. It was an amazing conference. To see what is happening in terms of research and advancement in NUCCA is unprecedented in the chiropractic world. The amazing thing about the advancement of NUCCA is that it has never been seen in the medical world prior to now either. The research happening now is validating what we have been saying for years. The only difference is now technology is catching up with what we have believed. Jim Palmer, one of our main sources in research as well as professor of physic at the University of Toledo, said, "Chiropractic and medicine have always been on opposite sides of the river with a bridge connecting us that is getting shorter. The only difference is that research is bringing them closer to us while we do what we have always done."

This is one of my favorite projects happening right now:

Using Phase Contrast MRI in migraine patients

A pilot study using Phase Contrast has recently concluded revealing startling evidence of changes in to cerebral blood flow after a NUCCA correction. The subject with a 20 year history of intractable headaches (migraine) occurring three to four times a week was studied. A PC MRA imaging study was obtained before the standardized NUCCA protocol evaluation. After the NUCCA procedure, a post PC MRA study was performed. The changes in venous outflow are represented graphically below.

Note in the post correction
graph, the venous outflow
has decreased.
